...is nothing more than a marketing ploy. There was no cat comic strip, so Jim Davis, Mr. Marketing Genius, decided to invent a bland one. Turns out he spends almost all of his time on marketing, rather than writing and illustrating. He probably has a lot in common with Scott Adams, the creator of Dilbert.
