Advanced Video System (Prototype for original Nintendo Entertainment System)
Apparently, the first version of the NES actually had wireless controllers! In 1985! So why did it take so fucking long for every system to have only wireless controllers? Do you know how many people wouldn't have tripped over those cords? This picture was taken at Nintendo World (or something like that) near Rockefeller Center. I encourage softcore (hardcore people would be too disgusted by all the little kids) gaming nerds to check this place out as soon as possible. This will be the first of hopefully many NES-related posts as soon as I get my act together.
please write about next gen systems and your predictions for the future of video games.
ReplyDeleteok, i will post on this in the near future...to give you a preview, i am definitely buying xbox 360 in november
ReplyDeletewhy? all the buzz suggests ps3 will pack more heat? I can't see you getting both, so why xbox so soon?
ReplyDeletei mean, sony's not about to have a weaker system two gens in a row.
ReplyDeleterich, you should RELLY WAIT FOR PS3..AT THE VERY LEAST, WRITE ABOUT WHY YOU AREN'T WAITING.
ReplyDeleteheh...interesting that this issue is generating so much buzz...i will soon explain my reasons for xbox 360, flawed though they might be...
ReplyDeletewhat's your definition of "soon?" Cuz I'm rearin' and ready.
ReplyDeleteyou seriously should post a lot more about interactive entertainment. not a lot of gamer blogs out there. not a lot of sports blogs out there. would like to see marquis to both.
ReplyDeletei am interested in your experience with old systems/accessories? 3DO? The Power Glove? Sega Master System? Rich, what's your personal history with video games. You may talk about Dan's experience too. Spare no detail. For instance, if you remember being in a Toys R Us when you were 9 with your rich aunt, trying to finagle her into buying you a $300 Turbo Graphix Express before slowly coming to the realization that a: you aren't going to get one and b: your aunt isn't as unlimitedly generous as you once thought, feel free to mention that. you could even talk about the kind of car she drove back then, like a 1993 black Jaguar which she was leasing for instance.
